Mere hours ago we got word that the update to Android 5.1.1 Lollipop was already rolling out to Samsung Galaxy S6 units in France. This follows the world premiere of this Android version’s rollout for Samsung handsets, which happened last week on T-Mobile.

And now the Galaxy S6 edge is getting Android 5.1.1 in Europe too. In this case, for now it’s only being distributed to handsets which were sold in the UK and Ireland. That said, undoubtedly it will spread to more places in a few weeks at most.

The update is for the SM-G925F model of the S6 edge, better known as the international variation. After applying it, you’ll be running software version G925FXXU2BOFJ.

It looks like an over-the-air rollout hasn’t commenced yet, but you can get the update by using Kies, Samsung’s desktop PC companion app.
